As the Netzwerk Naturwissen at the Museum of Natural History in Berlin, we are working to bring together stakeholders from science, civil society, culture, politics, and administration to develop new alliances for a livable city. In this context, we held an event on October 13, 2025, from 6 to 8 p.m. in the Leibnitz-Institute in berlin.

The starting point for the evening was the adoption of a purpose statement developed jointly by the Netzwerk Naturwissen, which serves as the basis for our future cooperation and also makes visible to the outside world what we stand for as a network. We discussed how we can not only manage urban resources—social, cultural, technological, and material—but also rethink them as collective opportunities and use them together.

The evening was divided into two parts: At the beginning, three keynote speeches were held, which opened up different perspectives on the topic. This was followed by a fishbowl discussion with network members and other interested parties in order to jointly develop concrete perspectives for a sustainable and community-oriented vision.
