On 25 September, we set up our association machine in front of the Nordbahnhof station, in the open air, in the middle of the city. Surrounded by concrete, traffic lights and tram tracks – a stark contrast to the Museum of Natural History. And the people? They rush past, needing to catch a train or simply not wanting to be approached.

The smells were the same as those that had already evoked associations in the museum, and once again many exciting memories, images and stories emerged. Sometimes just a few keywords, sometimes longer stories: clearing tables while waiting, the painting that was supposed to be sold years ago, childhood memories of Chausseestraße or the significance of the museum in one's own life.
